How Your Autonomous Transport System Is Created

An autonomous transport system (ATS) from Anronaut is developed in several coordinated steps—from the initial analysis to reliable operation at the customer’s site.

1. Analyze Requirements and Area of Application

First, we determine the specific requirements. In doing so, we consider, among other things:

  •     Required transport capacity

  •     Transport matrix

  •     Planned routes

  • Environment and operating conditions

  •     Goods, load carriers, and containers

  •     Shelving, sources, and sinks

  •     Transfer points and existing infrastructure

This information forms the basis for further planning of the autonomous transport system.

2. Plan and simulate the ATS

Based on the requirements, Anronaut develops a suitable ATS concept, covering the entire process from goods pickup to delivery. Simulations are used to verify system performance, material flow, and planned processes. Additionally, potential interfaces with existing warehouse management and material flow systems, such as WMS or MFS, are taken into account.

3. Characteristics of the Base Vehicle

Anronaut is independent of vehicle manufacturers and technology partners. This allows various devices from a wide range of suppliers to be automated using Anronaut technology.

Key criteria include:

    • Load capacity

    • Ground clearance

    • Lifting height

    • Load carriers

    • Operating space

    • Type and weight of the load

This creates the optimal technical foundation for future automation.

4. Preparing for Automation

In the next step, the base vehicle is prepared for autonomous operation. To do this, a suitable automation package is put together. This package includes components selected and added by Anronaut, as well as the necessary software and sensors.

The automation is designed so that the vehicle can be operated safely, precisely, and reliably in its intended environment.

5. Integrating the Vehicle and Automation Package

The vehicle, automation components, and required software are then combined into a fully functional unit. Depending on the application, vehicles such as narrow-aisle, omnidirectional, or high-lift trucks, as well as reach trucks and heavy-duty trucks, can be automated.

6. Setting Up the Management and Control System

The Anronaut management system coordinates the operations of the autonomous transport system. It can be run on a customer’s server or PC and can be integrated into the existing infrastructure.

Factors such as Wi-Fi, racks, markings, gates, traffic lights, fire safety, and other environmental conditions are taken into account.

7. Commissioning at the Customer’s Site

Following technical integration, the autonomous transport system is installed and commissioned at the customer’s site. The functions, routes, handoff points, and communication interfaces are tested and adjusted to the actual on-site conditions.

8. Reliable Operation Within the Customer’s Process

Once successfully commissioned, the autonomous transport system takes over automated material transport. It operates reliably, efficiently, and in line with customer needs, and sustainably optimizes internal transport processes.

In this way, Anronaut develops customized autonomous transport systems for intralogistics—from initial planning through to long-term operation at the customer’s site.
